A look back: "I left everything to live my passion", a lecture by Thomas Zaruba

We had the pleasure of welcoming Thomas Zaruba (PGE 2008) on Thursday 29th November in Lyon. The meeting place was a Jazz Club in the Old Lyon with a stage and musical instruments including an upright piano in front of which our guest sat and played a few songs.

Thomas left the world of digital marketing in the aftermath of the November 2015 attacks to pursue his passion for jazz piano. That night he was not in Paris but could have been one of the victims that evening at Le Carillon. It was a trigger. If he had been one of the victims, he would not have wanted to be remembered as "Thomas, Program Director". Three years later, he has released two albums. He does not consider this change as a reorientation but rather as a continuation, the continuity of his journey. Thomas has no regrets and reflects with joy on his journey, marked by luck but also serendipity: "Being open to others, to encounters, to opportunities that have opened up new opportunities." A good dose of positivity and authenticity punctuated by beautiful piano notes!
