Programme

The first part of the event will present the Alumni network in Norway. 

It will be followed by two presentations. The first one will be from a representative of ICDE, the leading, global membership organization that works towards bringing accessible, quality education to all through open, flexible and distance learning. As a Non-Governmental Organization, based on its nearly 350 institutional, individual and student members representing universities, associations and companies in more than 70 countries, and in all regions of the world, ICDE, in official partnership with the UNESCO since 1967, with consultative status, and its entire community, have supported the global agenda for open and universal education since its creation in 1938. The presentation will present a selection of ICDE coordinated initiatives aligning Open and flexible Education, lifelong learning, and the business sector.

The second presentation will be from a representative of BI Norwegian Business School, in official partnership with NEOMA for students exchange and will focus on the opportunities of lifelong , open and flexible learning from a business point of view. 

In the third part, the speakers will answer all your questions.

Objectives

The event will give participants the opportunity to understand better the concepts of lifelong, open and flexible learning and to reflect on what opportunities they can bring from the business perspective but also how it can support the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, from a societal point of view.

All members of the NEOMA Alumni network will have access to the event and HERE a short survey to gather questions and prepare the event.


Speakers

Torunn Gjelsvik

She assumed the position as Secretary General for International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) in January 2020. She has held several executive leadership positions in various educational institutions and organizations, including the national membership association Flexible Education Norway. From 2015 to 2018 she was Head of Development at the ICDE Secretariat, and her international experience covers policy development, international networks, global events and cross-country project management related to the global field of online, open and flexible education. She holds a Master’s Degree in Nordic languages and literature with a minor in French and History. She has additional studies in information and communication, strategy and project management from BI Norwegian Business School. She is a member of the Orientation Board of CNED (The National Centre for Distance Education in France).


Pr. Jan Ketil Arnulf 

He (born 1960) is Dean of Executive programs at BI Norwegian Business School , and a registered specialist in industrial/organizational as well as clinical psychology. In recent years he has concentrated upon how leadership is exercised and created. 

He’s full professor of organizational and industrial psychology at BI Norwegian Business School. Now serving as Dean Executive at BI, the academic head of the school’s executive programs. Earlier served two periods as Associate Dean of our joint MBA program with Fudan University in Shanghai, China. 

His main areas of teaching and research are leadership and leadership development, global leadership, language, and digital technology for language analysis. I have extensive experience as a practitioner in the field of leadership development to companies in the private and public sector. 


Anaïs Røed Malbrand 

She is the coordinator of the NEOMA Alumni network in Norway. She is Senior Adviser at the International Council for Open and Distance Education and an economist specialized in communications and international cooperation. She has been working in the UN System, NGOs and the private sector in New York, Guatemala, Chile, Spain, France and Norway. She holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from NEOMA Business School (promotion 2006) in France and a Masters Degree in International Relations from the University of the Basque Country in Spain.
