Investing in Australia vs Investing in France

Programme
Most of the time, when a French expat meets a French Australian financial advisor, the same question is asked: “Should I invest in Australia or should I invest in France?”.
This is a very legitimate question, as some expats will stay in Australia for 5 years, some for 10 and some others for much longer.
As a result, the best approach will depend on how long they want to stay in Australia and what are their objectives, wherever it is in Australia or in France.
In this presentation, we will cover the main investment structures in Australia and in France, and discuss about their respective benefits. We will also discuss about investment properties in terms of assets within an investor’s portfolio, its equivalence in France and how to deal with debt when you move overseas.
Please note that the presentation will be in French
About the presenter
After Matthieu De La Mettrie completed a Master of International Business with a Finance specialisation in Australia, his interest was initially towards Corporate Finance. However, an opportunity as a Financial Advisor at BNP Paribas in 2011 made him realise the fantastic opportunity he had to help people and the impact he could have on their lives.
For him, Financial Planning is about helping and coaching people to achieve their financial goals. It is not about telling people what to do, but on the contrary, it is about working together in partnership in order to find solutions.
