Dear FAA members and friends,
Launched in France in 1982 by the Ministry for culture, the Fête de la Musique – the Music day – usually takes place every 21st June, the day of the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere. This celebration allows the expression of all styles of music in a cheerful atmosphere and is above all a free popular fête, open to any participant (amateur or professional musicians) who wants to perform in it.
Musicians are always asked to perform for free and all the concerts are free for the public. It’s the reason why events often take place in open air areas as streets and parks. Last year was a huge success!!

French Alumni Association proudly presents the Fête de la Musique 2015 in Stanley again. We have a full music programme of 5 hours. The programme is extremely varied and very exciting, ranging from singing by very young vocalists and finalists of French singing contests, to jazz and pop bands and very rhythmical African drums! Nice surprises are ahead on June 21!
